Privacy policy
This page explains what Family Task Reader collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how parents can review or delete child information.
Last updated: May 30, 2026.
Family Task Reader ("Reader", "we", "us") is operated by Vybra App ("Vybra App"), a parent-managed family reading product available on the web and on iOS. This policy describes the information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices parents have, including for child information protected under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and Apple's Kids Category requirements. Vybra App operates Reader from the United States, and our mailing address is available on request at the email below.
Who controls the family workspace
A parent or legal guardian creates the parent account, the family workspace, and any child profiles. Children do not create independent public accounts. Reader is not designed for unsupervised use by children, and child profiles must be added by an authenticated parent account.
What we collect from parents
- Account email address, password hash, display name, account type, time zone.
- Family workspace name, family identifier, ownership and member roles.
- Reader purchase records (book entitlements, transaction IDs, purchase provider).
- Subscription metadata such as plan tier, current period dates, customer/subscription identifiers from Apple in-app purchase or Stripe.
- Support requests (subject, message, issue type, the page or screen the request was sent from, and a timestamp).
- Authentication telemetry (IP address, user agent) when you sign in.
What we collect about a child (only with parental consent)
- First name or display name and avatar choice (no last names are required).
- Age in years and optional pronouns.
- Reading progress: books opened, current chapter, finished books, last-read date.
- Story session activity (chapter unlocks, summaries surfaced, choices made).
- Optional kid-login email and password if a parent creates kid login access. Kid-login email addresses are provided by the parent for the child's sign-in.
We do not collect persistent device identifiers, advertising IDs, precise geolocation, contacts, photos, or microphone data from children. We do not enable third-party ad networks inside Reader. We do not run targeted advertising to children.
Why we collect it
- To run the parent dashboard, kid library, family bookshelf, and reading progress.
- To grant and verify SUPER Premium book entitlements and Family HQ Premium access.
- To handle support, billing questions, refunds, and account deletion.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell child personal information. We do not use child personal information for targeted advertising. We do not process child personal information beyond what is reasonably needed to run the reading experience.
Verifiable parental consent
Before any child profile is created in the mobile app, the parent or guardian is shown a consent disclosure that lists what is collected, how it is used, and the parent's rights. Tapping "I consent" in the parent app records a parental consent timestamp on the family workspace. Creating a kid login also requires the parent to explicitly confirm consent. If we materially change how child information is handled, we will provide updated notice and, where required, obtain new consent.
Parent rights and how to exercise them
- Review or update the child profile from Parent → Kids in the mobile app or the web dashboard.
- Delete a kid login at any time from Parent → Kids → Manage login.
- Delete the entire account, every family workspace you own, and all related child data from Settings → Delete account in the parent app, or by contacting support@familytaskhero.com.
- Refuse further collection or use of child information by deleting the child profile or the account.
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you or your child by emailing support@familytaskhero.com.
Service providers we use
- Vercel for hosting and deployment.
- Supabase for authentication, database, and storage.
- Apple App Store and Apple StoreKit for in-app purchases on iOS.
- RevenueCat for in-app purchase entitlement management on mobile.
- Stripe for web billing for Family HQ Premium where offered.
- AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) for chapter summaries and story content generation. Prompts and outputs may be processed by these providers under their data processing terms.
- Email transactional services for password resets and support replies.
Each provider processes information on our behalf as needed to operate Reader. Payment card details are handled by Apple or Stripe and are not stored on our servers.
Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to operate the family workspace, deliver paid content you have purchased, support families, keep required billing and tax records, prevent fraud, or meet legal obligations. When you delete your account we remove your profile, owned families, child profiles, kid logins, reading progress, and support history. Backups are rotated within 30 days. Some billing records may be retained longer where required by law.
International users
Reader is operated from the United States. By using Reader you understand that your information will be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
