Terms of service

These terms explain how Family Task Reader is offered, what families can expect from subscriptions and SUPER Premium books, and the basic rules for using the product.

Last updated: May 30, 2026.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between Vybra App ("we", "us", "Reader"), the company that operates Family Task Reader, and the parent or guardian who creates a Reader account ("you"). By creating an account or using the mobile app or web dashboard you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

On Apple platforms, this document also serves as the End User License Agreement (EULA) required by Apple, in addition to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies by default to apps distributed through the App Store.

1. Eligibility and parent ownership

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you add. Children should not create their own public accounts. If a child account was created without parent authorization, contact support@familytaskhero.com so it can be reviewed and removed.

2. Family workspace and kid logins

Parent accounts control family setup, billing, purchases, kid login access, and content decisions. Kid logins are created and managed by the parent. The parent is responsible for supervising children who use Reader, choosing whether kid mode is appropriate, and keeping shared device and login credentials safe.

3. Subscriptions and one-time purchases

Family HQ Premium is a recurring subscription. SUPER Premium books are one-time purchases that unlock the book for the family workspace tied to the purchase. Pricing, plan limits, and included features may change over time, but changes that affect active paid subscriptions will be communicated before renewal.

Web (Stripe). When you subscribe or buy a book on the web, payment is processed by Stripe and charged to the payment method you provide. Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored on our servers. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel from your Family HQ plan billing page, which opens the Stripe billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals, and your premium access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

iOS (Apple). When you subscribe or buy a book in the iOS app, payment is made through Apple in-app purchase and billed to your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel from Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Web and iOS billing are handled and managed independently. Use only one channel per family for a subscription; do not subscribe through both for the same family.

4. Refunds

Refunds for web purchases (Family HQ Premium and SUPER Premium books) are described in our refund policy. Purchases made through the Apple App Store are subject to Apple's refund policy; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For any other billing question, email support@familytaskhero.com.

5. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the mobile app, or by emailing support@familytaskhero.com. Deleting your account permanently removes your parent account, the families you own, the child profiles in those families, kid logins, reading progress, library entries, and support history. Apple subscriptions are not cancelled by deleting your account; you must cancel them in Apple's subscription management screen if you want to stop renewals.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Reader to abuse payment systems, chargebacks, or refund requests.
  • Attempt to access another family's workspace or another user's data.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app.
  • Use AI features to generate content that targets, harasses, or describes harm to children, or that violates applicable law.
  • Use the service in a way that interferes with reliability, safety, or compliance for other families.

We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated.

7. AI and generated content

Reader uses AI to assist with chapter summaries and story content. AI output can be imperfect; parents remain responsible for deciding what is appropriate for their family. Do not enter sensitive personal information into prompts unless it is necessary for your family's use of Reader.

8. Privacy and child data

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, how long we keep it, and how parents can review or delete child information. By using Reader you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Reader is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, except those that cannot be disclaimed under applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or related to these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Reader in the twelve months before the claim or USD 50.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in New York have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the service, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your home country or state.

11. Apple-specific terms (iOS users)

The following terms apply when you obtain Reader from the Apple App Store:

  • These Terms are entered into between you and Vybra App, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Reader or its content.
  • Your license to use Reader on an Apple device is limited to use on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Reader. Apple is not responsible for product warranties; if Reader fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the App Store purchase price (if any), and Apple will have no other warranty obligation.
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing claims related to product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, consumer protection, or third-party intellectual property infringement.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as "terrorist-supporting" and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms over time. Material changes will be communicated by email or inside the parent app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@familytaskhero.com. Family Task Reader is operated by Vybra App, and our mailing address is available on request.
